Modules Overview

Overview of DataHawk's active modules, Alerts, AI Copywriter, Sherlock, and MCP, and when to use each one.

DataHawk modules sit on top of your connected data and help you act on it. Each module serves a different job: monitoring changes, creating listing content, diagnosing performance shifts, or connecting your data to AI assistants and automations.

💡

This page covers the active DataHawk modules. All modules are Amazon-focused unless otherwise noted.

Alerts — Stay on top of changes

Alerts monitors your tracked products around the clock and sends you a notification when a condition you care about is met.

You define the rules: for example, "notify me when the Buy Box price of ASIN X drops below £15" or "alert me when my Best Seller Rank drops by more than 20%". DataHawk checks the conditions daily and delivers alerts to your inbox or dashboard.

Use Alerts when you want to:

  • Know when a competitor changes their price
  • Catch a Buy Box loss before it impacts your sales
  • Monitor review count or rating changes on key ASINs
  • Get notified when inventory drops below a threshold

Alerts is reactive: it tells you that something changed. To understand why it changed, use Sherlock.

AI Copywriter — Write better listings

The AI Copywriter helps you create and optimize Amazon product listings, titles, bullet points, and descriptions, using AI. It takes your product information and generates listing content that is structured for readability and keyword relevance.

Use AI Copywriter when you want to:

  • Write a listing for a new product from scratch
  • Improve an existing listing's title or bullet points
  • Generate listing variations for A/B testing
  • Scale listing creation across a large catalog

Sherlock — Diagnose performance changes

Sherlock is DataHawk's AI-powered diagnostic engine. When your sales, rankings, or revenue change, Sherlock helps you understand why by breaking down contributing factors and guiding you to the likely root cause.

You can interact with Sherlock through its standard interface or by talking to the Sherlock Agent directly in natural language. You can also log business events, such as promotions, price changes, or listing edits, so Sherlock can factor them into its analysis.

Use Sherlock when you want to:

  • Investigate a sudden drop or spike in sales
  • Understand what's driving a change in your BSR or conversion rate
  • Get an AI-assisted explanation of your account's recent performance
  • Ask questions about your data in plain language

Sherlock is diagnostic: it tells you why something happened and what to investigate next.

MCP — Bring DataHawk into your favorite AI

DataHawk's MCP server lets external AI assistants, Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, n8n, Make, and more, query your DataHawk data directly. Connect once via OAuth, then ask questions in plain English, run scheduled reports, or wire DataHawk into your own automations.

Use MCP when you want to:

  • Ask questions about your performance inside Claude or ChatGPT
  • Build scheduled Slack or email digests using n8n or Make
  • Combine DataHawk numbers with tools you already use
  • Build custom apps that read your DataHawk data

How the modules work together

You do not need to use every module. Start with the module that matches the problem you are trying to solve today, then combine modules as your workflow matures.

Scenario 1: A key ASIN loses momentum

  1. Alerts notifies you that the Buy Box was lost two days ago.
  2. Sherlock diagnoses the likely cause, such as a competitor undercutting your price.
  3. AI Copywriter helps refresh the listing while you address pricing or fulfillment.
  4. MCP lets you ask your AI assistant to draft a team update using the latest DataHawk numbers.

Scenario 2: Inventory risk needs attention

  1. Alerts notifies you when a tracked ASIN drops below 30 days of cover.
  2. Sherlock helps prioritize the highest-impact stock risks across the catalog.
  3. MCP wires the workflow into n8n or Make to trigger a daily Slack digest in your inventory channel.

Scenario 3: Weekly performance review

  1. MCP pulls a fresh executive summary into Claude or ChatGPT every Monday morning.
  2. Sherlock investigates any revenue, ACOS, ranking, or conversion changes that need follow-up.
  3. Alerts keeps the team aware of specific changes that need immediate action.
  4. AI Copywriter helps turn listing opportunities into updated content.
