My advertising data is not populating
Steps to troubleshoot missing advertising data in DataHawk after connecting your Amazon Advertising account.
After connecting your Amazon Advertising account to DataHawk, you notice that some or all advertising data is not appearing.
What I can observe
- No advertising data appears in DataHawk after connection
- Dashboards remain empty or show incomplete data
- Specific campaign types are missing (Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, or Sponsored Display)
- You expect data but nothing is retrieved
Why is this happening?
This is usually due to campaign status, data availability on Amazon's side, or API sync timing: Not a problem with the DataHawk connection itself.
What can I do?
Step 1: Verify campaigns are active
Before investigating further, confirm that your campaigns are not paused or archived.
- Log in to Amazon Advertising Console
- Navigate to Campaign Manager
- Check the status of your campaigns
- If campaigns are Paused, Archived, or Ended, no new data will be generated
- Ensure at least some campaigns are in Enabled or Running status
Note: Paused campaigns will not generate new data. Historical data from when the campaign was active should still be available, but no new metrics will appear.
Step 2: Check data availability on Amazon's side
Confirm that data exists in Amazon's native reporting.
- Log in to Amazon Advertising Console
- Go to Reports → Sponsored Ads Reports
- Download a report for the relevant date range and campaign type
- Verify that metrics appear in the downloaded file
If the Amazon report is empty or shows no data, the issue originates from Amazon, not DataHawk.
Step 3: Wait for sync completion
DataHawk syncs advertising data on a regular schedule. After connecting a new account or after Amazon processes new campaign data:
- Allow 24–48 hours for initial data to appear
- Check back to confirm data is populating
Still not working?
If data is available on Amazon's side but not appearing in DataHawk, please contact DataHawk support and provide the following information:
Account Identification:
- DataHawk Account ID or Workspace Name
- Email address used for the connection
Account Type: Is this a Seller or Vendor advertising account?
Marketplace: Which marketplace(s) are affected? (e.g., US, UK, DE, FR, etc.)
Campaign Type: Which campaign type(s) are not showing data?
- Sponsored Products
- Sponsored Brands
- Sponsored Display
When contacting support, please attach a screenshot of the Amazon Advertising report showing that data exists for the affected period. This helps us investigate faster.
What DataHawk handles
DataHawk automatically:
- Retrieves advertising data via Amazon Advertising API
- Syncs campaign, ad group, keyword, and targeting data
- Handles API requests and rate limits
If no data is returned after completing the checks above, the issue may be related to API access, account permissions, or Amazon-side data availability, which requires further investigation.
