Access & permissions
Can't log in, password reset not working, missing workspace access, or user permission errors.
You or a teammate can't get into DataHawk, or you can see the app but data is missing because of permission settings. This page covers the common patterns.
Quick checks first
- Is the user invited to the right workspace? Workspace membership is per-workspace, not per-account. Check Workspace → Members.
- Is two-factor authentication blocking? Some users forget their authenticator after re-installing their phone. Recovery codes solve this.
- Did you click the password reset link within 24 hours? Reset links expire.
Common scenarios
Can't log in
| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Password reset email never arrives | Email landed in spam, or email mismatch | Check spam, confirm the email matches your DataHawk account |
| Password reset email arrives but link fails | Link expired (24h) | Request a fresh reset link |
| 2FA code rejected | Phone clock out of sync | Sync phone time settings; or use a recovery code |
| Stuck on impersonation page | Internal admin issue | Sign out fully, clear cookies for the DataHawk domain, sign back in |
Workspace access
| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Invited user doesn't appear in workspace | Invite expired | Re-send invite from Workspace → Members |
| User in workspace can't see specific data | Per-source permissions in DataHawk app | Workspace admin can grant per-source access |
Multi-workspace customers
If you have several workspaces under one account:
- The top-left workspace switcher is the canonical place to move between them
- Permissions are isolated per workspace: A member of Workspace A is not automatically a member of Workspace B
Specific problems
Still stuck?
Email [email protected] with:
- Your workspace ID
- The email of the affected user
- The exact error message you see (or a screenshot)
- What the user is trying to do (log in, access a dashboard, etc.)
