Subscribe & Save Forecasting
Understand Subscribe & Save performance, forecasted demand, key metrics, and inventory-planning use cases.
Amazon Subscribe & Save lets customers subscribe to recurring deliveries of a product at a discount. For sellers, it can create predictable recurring revenue, but it is highly sensitive to inventory availability. A stockout does not only mean a missed sale; it can mean a missed subscription delivery, which can trigger cancellations and lost recurring revenue.
DataHawk separates Subscribe & Save into two complementary views:
| View | What it tells you | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Performance | What actually happened in past subscription periods | Measure shipped units, subscription revenue, active subscriptions, and missed deliveries |
| Forecast | What Amazon expects will happen in upcoming periods | Plan inventory before future subscription deliveries are missed |
Both views work at the ASIN level, broken down by marketplace and time period.
What you can answer
How to use Performance and Forecast together
Plan with Forecast
Use the Forecast view to estimate upcoming subscription demand by ASIN, marketplace, and period.
Monitor with Performance
Use the Performance view to check what was actually shipped, what was missed due to out-of-stock, and what revenue impact followed.
Act on the gap
If you see high forecasted demand alongside high out-of-stock losses, you have an urgent replenishment gap. Address it before the next delivery cycle.

Interpretation notes
- Forecast metrics are Amazon projections, not guaranteed demand.
- Out-of-stock losses are especially important for Subscribe & Save because a missed subscription delivery can weaken recurring demand.
- Compare Forecast and Performance together; either view alone can be misleading.
- Use inventory datasets alongside Subscribe & Save data when you need to understand whether missed deliveries came from availability, replenishment timing, or broader stock planning issues.
