Star-rating breakdown stored as 0 for Amazon products
The 1- to 5-star percentage columns in PRODUCT.PRODUCT_DETAILED came through as 0 for many rated Amazon products. New data is fixed; history is under review.
Data update - Identified
Issue type: Incorrect data
Period: From May 2026
Scope: Amazon products with ratings, a share of rows (most rows since May 2026). Walmart isn't affected.
Datasets: PRODUCT.PRODUCT_DETAILED (RATING_1_STARS_PERCENT to RATING_5_STARS_PERCENT)
Cause: An Amazon page change stopped us from reading the star-rating breakdown, and the missing values were stored as 0. RATING and RATING_COUNT were correct.
Progress: Fixed for new data from Oct 7, 2026. Missing breakdowns are updated and when no data comes through, it is now NULL, not 0.
Historical data: We're reviewing how far back we can correct it.
Action: We are working on restoring the historical data. If you queried this dataset for Amazon products with ratings, you may have seen 0s in the star-rating breakdown columns. Before Oct 7, 2026, you can treat old all-zero breakdowns as missing for now while we restore them, not 0%. From Oct 7, NULL means Amazon shows no breakdown for that product.
