Quick answers to the most common Alerts questions.
"Why didn't I get an alert?"
A few common reasons:
- The trigger didn't fire — DataHawk checks once a day. If the change happened after the daily check, you'll see it tomorrow.
- The alert is paused — check the Alerts list for status.
- The recipient group is empty or wrong — check the group's members.
- The email landed in spam — whitelist [email protected]
- The data isn't available — Walmart doesn't expose all properties (see Triggers & properties).
"Why am I getting too many alerts?"
- Triggers are too sensitive — tighten the threshold (e.g. "decreases by 5%" → "decreases by 15%").
- Alert covers too many products — narrow it to a tag or specific ASINs.
- Multiple overlapping alerts — consolidate into one alert with multiple triggers and a single recipient group.
"When are alerts sent?"
DataHawk runs the daily check once per day and emails the recipient group everyday at 12pm CET
"Can I send alerts to Slack, Teams, or a webhook?"
DataHawk Alerts module does not offer this. If you need non-email delivery today, build a workflow with DataHawk MCP and a tool like n8n or Make — they can pull your DataHawk data and post anywhere.
"How long is alert history kept?"
Alert events are retained for 3 months.
"What's the difference between preset and custom triggers?"
- Preset — pre-built templates for the most common situations. Fast to set up.
